SSIC U19 s Basketball Tournament

All Saints Sport Centre

With Sheffield being a high flying city for Basketball it was no wonder why there was such a great turn out to the SSIC Basketball tournament in April 2009, hosted at All Saints School.

Sixth forms and colleges from across Sheffield competed in two leagues fighting for a place in the final.

The tournament ended in a tight contest between Norton College and High Storrs in the final. Norton College kept their winning streak and triumphantly took home the Trophy.

SSIC Men s 6 a Side and
Women s 5 a side

Hillsborough College

The launch of SSIC competition started with a successful men s 6 a side and women s 5 a side football tournament which took place at the all weather astro turf pitches at Hillsborough College in December 2008.

SSIC Men s 6 a Side
There was a great turn out in the men s competitions with 20 teams entering from FE colleges and Sixth forms across Sheffield. After fighting off strong competition from King Ecbert s School in the finals, City College were victorious (winning team pictured below).

SSIC Women s 5 aside
There were 5 teams entered into the women s competition. A very high standard of play was observed, which was especially seen in the close final between Norton College and All Saints School. Norton women, who were unbeatable throughout the tournament, became the Women s football Champions.
